Hannah Woolf Vigoda was born in St. Petersburg, Russia — at the time Leningrad, USSR — and came to the United States as a young child with her parents, who were political refugees. She grew up in the Washington, DC area. Since 2009, Attorney Vigoda has called North Carolina home.

Attorney Vigoda graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with high honors from the University of Virginia, where she studied linguistics, East European history and politics, and French. After spending a year in Siberia on a Fulbright Fellowship, Attorney Vigoda moved to Moscow in 2008 to work for the Russian office of a US immigration law firm. She went on to study law at Duke University in Durham, NC. While at Duke she delved further into various areas of immigration law through coursework; through her involvement in the Refugee/Asylum Support Project; and through internships with the Tahirih Justice Center, the North Carolina Justice Center, and Robertson Immigration Law Firm in Raleigh, NC. After graduating from Duke Law, she returned to Robertson Immigration Law Firm as an attorney and had an opportunity to serve clients of many different backgrounds with a wide range of immigration cases. Since launching her firm in Raleigh in 2015, Attorney Vigoda has continued to have the privilege of serving clients from over 50 countries.

In addition to her time working in Russia, Attorney Vigoda has lived and studied in France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Guatemala. She is passionate about understanding each client’s unique situation and goals, as she believes that this is central to providing top-quality immigration representation.
